Large-scale Moscow's Attacks Eliminate Electricity In Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities targeted in the region
The country's energy systems have come under escalating attacks in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Russian aerial assaults have led to electricity outages in extensive areas of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were injured while local people in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and dealt with problems to water systems, according to local authorities.

Meanwhile, a minor was fatally injured in a separate Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southern area, based on information from area administrators.

Moscow has escalated attacks on energy facilities over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has requested "substantial measures" from international partners to increase pressure on Russia.

"What is required is not window dressing but strong steps - from the United States, the EU and the Group of Seven - in delivering defensive weapons and implementing restrictions," he wrote in a social media post.

He said that 450 drones and over thirty rockets targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

The energy minister said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and repair crews were laboring to fix the damage.

A barrage of missiles damaged power facilities and civilian homes in the capital.

Several of the people wounded in the strikes on the city have been hospitalized, per statements from municipal representatives.

Regional authorities said the city came under significant strikes during nighttime hours. A young boy was killed and multiple civilians were hurt.

The assaults follow nights of air raids in the region, portions of which are occupied by Moscow's military.

All of Ukraine is on alert for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are tougher to detect.

Government officials told reporters that Russia was purposely seeking to destroy the national power system, with assaults already disrupting energy systems.

Authorities confirmed utility staff and authorities were anticipating additional strikes.
